April 9th Meeting

There are many splendid trees around us .
Avenida Conde De Mieres where I took this photograph has colour like this for most of the year as the Jacaranda trees flower in turn and shower the cars parked beneath with sticky blossoms.
Around the corner is this tree which also spreads it's enormous yellow flowers everywhere.Known as "Angel's Trumpet" and referred to here in Spain as "Datura"
Brugmansia
We are now five regulars plus floating visitors and are happy to welcome a long time resident as a new member from out of town. A fluent Spanish speaking citizen with knowledge of the coast, and local customs. She too has expressed an interest in a visit to the gardens of La Concepcion. This may be the time for a visit now that Easter crowds have thinned out.
Going past the gardens on my way up to the campo for a friend's birthday visit, I saw several groups strolling there in the wonderful weather. No-one to see though on my way down, rain has set in for a few days. This being the driest spring here since 1912, we cannot complain!
Next meeting Friday as usual
