Busy start to July already we have had Flamenco music and dancing in the plazas this week.

Followed by the Feria Virgen del Carmen from the 13th of July. The effigy is carried through the streets of La Carihuela and mass held on the beach. The image is mounted then on a flower covered boat covered with glowing lights, and accompanied by a fleet of small fishing vessels and boats is carried around the Torremolinos bayside in the traditional maritime blessing. A lovely picture held under the full moon and hardly a wave to break on the beaches.
With the heat making daytime activities too much effort most people venture out late to enjoy the cool evening breezes.Dancing in the Municipal caseta, games and surfcasting on the beach; flower offerings and fireworks complete some very late night events.
A brilliant race by Hamilton put him first past the chequered flag last Sunday in the German Gran Prix. Staged at Hugaroring one of the best circuits for overtaking, he took full advantage of the circuit and the Spanish commentator, the lovely Antonio Lobato, said he took his hat off to him! Twice. After being level on points with Massa he now takes the lead. The next challenge will be in Budapest August 3rd
