Jumps and Water Bubbles

Jumps and Water Bubbles

Yelmo Plaza
Plenty of time for a coffee and watching the temporary fun fair before the cinema
The latest film was "STAR TREK 2009", not quite the same in Spanish! But special effects very good and the characters amazingly similar to the original actors as younger versions.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to BARBARA and ADRIAN in the UK
Meeting as usual at Mercedes on Friday at 11.00

CAMPO

Amid all the events of the Spring Ferias in the coastal towns and villages; and visitors arriving and leaving weekly, we still manage to meet for our Jade Coffee Club cinema visits. This week we saw ANGELS AND DEMONS. Two of us thought it was great and stuck closely to the book ,one didn't understand it at all and four thought it was either too long, good but not like the bookand difficult to follow. But it's a fast action thriller with fantastic special effects.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MARK, LIZ, PAT AND TIM

NO meeting this week as big happenings in Torremolinos and I--- -seen in the recent photo above burning the toast---am up in the campo  starting up a new duo called "THE TROLLEYS"

Gardens La Concepcion

We had a good day out to Malaga Gardens at La Concepcion. Created by Jorge Loring and his wife Amalia Heredia at the end of the 19th century. Amalia organised an incredible wood of over 500 palm trees. People come from all over the world to see one of the most beautiful tropical gardens in Europe. Being under all those wonderful old trees was good after the busy coast where we live. Waterfalls and pools and flowers. The original mansion is quite lovely with it's classic design echoed by a small temple in the garden

The Malaga Minibus service timetable for La Concepcion Times are 11.00am 12:15 13:30 15:30 16:45 18:30 and returning half an hour later with the last bus at 20:15pm
Closed Mondays

Gardens and Water Mills

Hello, our latest outing to the Botanical Gardens in Torremolinos was a great success. We saw how the original water mills of Los Molinos del Inca worked, actually seeing flour ground by the massive stones in the mill itself being turned by fast flowing water below.
From 1488 to the present day and since the visit of the King Alfonso X111 and his Queen Victoria Eugenia in 1929, the water has been famous for it's quality.
In the fascinating interactive display of the various types of mills, all the ingenuity that went into the working models could be operated by the touch of a button.
The gardens themselves were gorgeous and landscaped with every care for design using all local materials, flowing water alongside the paths and steps, trees of all types from many countries. Fountains and falls, rose arbours and aviaries of special birds. A maze surrounded by tiled flower borders blooming with exquisite plants and bushes.
Highly thought by all of us and just a short car ride away from the busy centre we will all be taking visitors and friends there again for the peace and quiet as much as the lovely flowers.

Next meeting the same place as last week the coffee is good and the cake nice! Friday at Mercedes Cafe Bar 11.00 am. email me for details of any outings coming up.
