Gardens and Water Mills

Hello, our latest outing to the Botanical Gardens in Torremolinos was a great success. We saw how the original water mills of Los Molinos del Inca worked, actually seeing flour ground by the massive stones in the mill itself being turned by fast flowing water below.
From 1488 to the present day and since the visit of the King Alfonso X111 and his Queen Victoria Eugenia in 1929, the water has been famous for it's quality.
In the fascinating interactive display of the various types of mills, all the ingenuity that went into the working models could be operated by the touch of a button.
The gardens themselves were gorgeous and landscaped with every care for design using all local materials, flowing water alongside the paths and steps, trees of all types from many countries. Fountains and falls, rose arbours and aviaries of special birds. A maze surrounded by tiled flower borders blooming with exquisite plants and bushes.
Highly thought by all of us and just a short car ride away from the busy centre we will all be taking visitors and friends there again for the peace and quiet as much as the lovely flowers.

Next meeting the same place as last week the coffee is good and the cake nice! Friday at Mercedes Cafe Bar 11.00 am. email me for details of any outings coming up.
